Balancing a career in public service with a growing presence in music and film, MonarchK represents a new generation of Nigerian creatives redefining what longevity looks like in the arts.
An immigration officer by profession, MonarchK has steadily built his music career since his 2024 debut with Jay Joycie. His latest release, Liquor Rose, signals what his team describes as a “manifestation phase.”
“This journey has been about structure,, Every song, every step, every name carries meaning.” MonarchK said.
That meaning is evident in his recent rebrand. After years of being called Monark IsHere which is often mispronounced and misunderstood, the artiste chose to rebrand to ‘MonarchK’ to realign his identity with his long-term vision. “It’s royalty. It’s leadership. It’s architecture,” he stated.
Manager bigTEE believes the shift will help audiences better understand the depth of the artiste’s catalogue. “There’s a serious volume of work on ground, I mean songs we’ve archived carefully, They aren’t just fillers but they are records meant to move people.” he said.
Label representative Horesh also confirmed that strategic releases and visuals are next. “Liquor Rose will have visuals soon, I can tell you that our movements are intentional. What’s coming will show the level of work already done.” Horesh disclosed.
MonarchK’s rise reflects a deliberate balance between structure and creativity, one shaped by lived experience, discipline, and long-term vision. From early recognition on the Glo Rock and Rule stage to his current manifestation phase, the artiste’s journey underscores the value of patience in an industry driven by speed. With strategic releases and visuals lined up, MonarchK’s carefully paced ascent suggests an artist not merely seeking attention, but building a lasting imprint on African music culture.
